Banana Oat Smoothie gone wrong.

So here's the story. I attempted to make a Banana Oatmeal Smoothie. Bad idea. I am impatient sometimes (and so is my brother, who just happened to be my sidekick on this easy adventure) and we didn't want to cook the oatmeal. That was a mistake, because it made the smoothie incredibly thick and dry. Here's my little bit of advice that should accompany common sense: always follow the recipe on your first go at that recipe, no matter how impatient you are.

See my uncooked oatmeal?!
But we got lucky this time. Since this recipe wasn't being baked or anything of that sort, my brother and I just kind of started throwing things in there. A few tablespoons of honey, a half a cup of peanut butter, some milk and BOOM. We were satisfied with the concoction we had...concocted. I know that is not much direction...but maybe if you have a bit more patience than I had this last time, you will have more luck with this recipe!

Banana Oatmeal Smoothie
Ingredients:-2 whole bananas
-2 cups of ice
-1/3 cup of yogurt (I used what they recommended, which was Greek yogurt flavored w/ honey)
-1/2 cup of cooked oatmeal
-1/3 cup of almonds
The directions are simple: put all of the ingredients in the blender and blend until the smoothie thickens.

I hope you had a marvelous Thanksgiving. I will post about my mishaps on this glorious holiday later. Here's a sneak peak: it has something to do with my baby (my iPhone) and the Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookie n' Oreo Fudge Brownie Bars. I can sense you shaking your head already.

-cheers, Abi
